Love

Preston and I are currently in the middle of Project: Frantically Reorganize the Apartment Before the School Year Starts And Time Evaporates, and as part of this project, we are upgrading all of our cheap Target bookshelves to cheap IKEA bookshelves. HURRAH. I will note that in IKEA's defense, their bookshelves are much prettier and - almost as importantly - much sturdier than the Target ones.

Anyways, the IKEA bookshelves are also bigger than the Target ones which means more shelf space...more shelf space that both of us are eager to claim (but, in an act of supreme generosity/restraint on both our parts, haven't). So tonight we're both sitting on the sofa, cuddling with our laptops (I mean, I might as well be honest.), when Preston tilts his screen towards me, points to an ebay item described as "45 vintage Agatha Christie novels" and says, with a hint of remorse/guilty pleasure, "I almost bid on those. We finally have room for them with all the extra shelf space."

He didn't bid on the 45 vintage Agathas - probably a good thing, since empty shelf space lasts approximately 3.7 seconds in our apartment...the second a shelf clears, books just APPEAR out of nowhere - but at the end of a jam-packed summer and a stressful day, I cannot adequately express how happy I am to be sitting beside someone whose guilty pleasure is 45 vintage Agatha Christie novels.

  1. They probably wouldn't be Agatha Christie novels, but we would LOVE to fill up some empty shelves... jealous!!
