Because no one has ever done this before. Also because I bet you don’t want to do your homework/housework/real, live adult work, either!
1. I thought the phrase "for all intents and purposes" was "for all intensive purposes" until I was at least twenty-one.
2. I hate mice.
3. I will eat peanut butter straight out of the jar with a spoon if there's no one watching me.
4. I think that fabric softener is one of the twentieth century’s greatest inventions.
5. I have two younger brothers and represent every oldest child stereotype possible.
6. I went to an all-girls school for thirteen years.
7. During college I took two semesters off.
8. During the first one, I worked at an interior design firm, which was much less glamorous than it sounds. I folded a lot of fabric and picked up a lot of lunches.
9. During the second one, I spent a lot of time baby-sitting.
10. I started dating my husband, Preston, when I was seventeen and he was twenty.
11. I knew I wanted to marry him within months, which in retrospect makes me sound really creepy. At the time, however, we both thought it was adorable.
12. My Dad left my family when I was eleven, and YES. I have father issues.
13. My first cassette was Jimmy Buffet's "Cheeseburger in Paradise."
14. My first CD was Sophie B. Hawkins' "As I Lay Me Down."
15. I know every word to every song from "The Sound of Music."
16. I listen to Christmas carols from King's College Choir (Cambridge) year round.
17. I have a weakness for beautiful, overpriced bags.
18. I would guess that 85% of my clothes are from Target, Old Navy, or consignment shops.
19. I am 5'1.5" and haven't grown since I was twelve.
20. I live at a school, and am constantly mistaken for a student, usually high school, but sometimes middle school.
21. I wear silver jewelry exclusively.
22. Except for a few nice pieces, most of it is incredibly cheap.
23. When I was three or four, I stole a candy bar from Food Lion when grocery shopping with my Mom. She made me take it back and apologize.
24. When I was in fourth grade, I was the runner-up in the all school spelling bee; I lost on the word "potassium."
25. The next year I lost on the word "blimp" because I had no idea what a blimp was, and I thought the speaker said "blip." I'm still kind of embarrassed about this.
26. I still wear a digital watch every day, and this makes me feel like a sixteen-year-old boy.
27. I have no plans, however, to buy a nice watch.
28. TV on the internet might be the greatest (and most terrible) invention ever. If it takes me ten years to finish my PhD, I'm blaming it on Hulu.
29. On the Meyers-Briggs test, I am an INFJ.
30. I love (and crave, and require) organization, and generally love to clean.
31. Except when dusting is required. UGH. I hate to dust.
32. I have terrible seasonal allergies, one of the lone genetic traits I have inherited from my father.
33. I love to take photos, but am very amateur.
34. There are framed photos all over our apartment. I love all of them.
35. I bought "Forever" by Chris Brown on iTunes just because of the Jim and Pam wedding scene.
36. I drink a lot of (mostly decaffeinated) tea and a lot of water, which means that I am constantly going to the bathroom. I find that being hydrated can be enormously time consuming.
37. I love, love, love, waking up to the smell of coffee.
38. I also love waking up to the smell of pancakes and bacon, but since neither Pres nor I eat big breakfasts, I have determined that that is only going to happen when I visit my mother.
39. I break the rules and eat at my carrel in the library on a daily basis.
40. I have written over two hundred pages worth of papers during the last two years of graduate school.
41. My first year of graduate school was positively miserable and I cried every day.
42. My second year was much better, in large part because I got to serve as a teaching assistant for Elementary, Intensive, and Intermediate Latin.
43. I have a birthmark on my neck and a scar on my cheek from where my dog bit me when I was two.
44. The only time I have ever been to a tanning bed is before my wedding. I am so glad I did, because if I hadn't, I would have been the same shade as my dress (I'm naturally pale).
45. My eyes are my favorite feature.
46. I have had two miscarriages. The first one happened in March 2010, and the second one in July 2010. They were both completely devastating.
47. I love running, but am prone to stress fractures, and don't think I'll ever be able to be more than a very recreational runner.
48. I'm pretty ok with that.
49. I love the pashminas I've picked up at flea markets, and wear them almost every day for about ten months out of the year.
50. The only pieces of jewelry I wear every day are my wedding band and my engagement ring, but I almost always wear earrings as well.

52. I buy fresh (and very cheap) flowers from the grocery store every other week.
53. If I could eat only one cheese for the rest of my life, it would be goat cheese.
54. If I could eat only one food for the rest of my life, it would be apples (warm bread with good butter is a close second, though).
55. I love red wine, dark beer, and dirty martinis (but if I have more than one, I am useless).
56. I almost always order the same meal when I eat out at a familiar restaurant.
57. Yes, I really am that unadventurous.
58. I love sappy inspirational quotes.
59. Preston converted me to the Wide World of Mac six years ago, and I have never looked back.
60. I wear either nightgowns or old t-shirts of Preston's to bed.
61. Sometimes I just want to quit school/work and be a housewife.
62. And then I remember that I would probably go crazy.
63. Wall-to-wall carpeting makes me shudder.
64. I love throwing parties (Seriously! Is it your birthday? If so, can I please throw you a party?!).
65. I like really bright light, and when bulbs go out in a room, I notice the change immediately.
66. I love pink (see: my closet).
67. I peel my grapefruits and eat them like oranges (as opposed to cutting them in half and dividing each half into sectionals).
68. I am named after my maternal Grandmother.
69. I had no idea of the implications of the initials MF until I went to college, where my classmates almost immediately enlightened me. I continue to sign my emails “MF” anyway.
71. I graduated a year early (but still on time with my class, since I’d taken a year off – yes, I know – it is confusing.) thanks to AP credits from high school.
72. My family is from South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, and whenever I talk to a family member on the phone, my Southern accent comes back in full force.
73. I drink too much coffee.
74. I know every word to the movie “Little Women,” and actually prefer the film (the 1994 version) to the book.
75. This preference makes me feel blasphemous.
76. I was raised Presbyterian, but after thirteen years at an Episcopalian school + marriage to an Episcopalian, I feel pretty converted.
77. My favorite Jane Austen is Sense and Sensibility.
78. My favorite piece of furniture in our apartment is a china hutch that I bought for $75 from the Salvation Army while I was in college.
79. My engagement ring originally belonged to Preston’s paternal grandmother. It is much fancier than I actually am.
80. I use a combination of Bioré and Clinique skin-care products, and have since I was about fourteen.
81. I love it when Callie and Ness sleep on our bed, even though they are the size of small horses.
82. I am a very visual learner.
83. When I’m upset, my modus operandi is to become passive aggressive and sulky. I’m working very hard to change this truly annoying habit.
84. My favorite case in Latin is the accusative, and my favorite tense is the perfect.
85. When I was in college, I drove an old station wagon in which the cruise control was broken. Now that we have a car with functioning cruise control, I feel like a princess.
86. My biggest grammar pet peeve is ending sentences with prepositions – specifically, “at.” Shudder.
87. In high school I sang in three choirs, wrote for two newspapers, worked backstage at the theatre every day, served on the Honor Council, drove my brothers to school, baby-sat almost every weekend, and made good grades. I sleep a lot more now.
88. Preston and I picked out our baby names circa 2003. They have evolved a bit since then, but not that much.
89. I organize my closet by color.
90. I am an embarrassingly sore loser.
91. I think of myself as non-competitive, but that’s really a lie.
92. When I’m sad, I almost always listen to Joni Mitchell. Excellent wallowing music.
93. I have a deep and abiding love for office supplies (especially binder clips, post-it notes, and filing materials - SWOON).
94. If I could wear skirts or dresses every day, I think I would.
95. My hair is naturally wavy (read: frizzy), and I have to blow dry and straighten it when I want to look presentable.
96. Favorite books include: I Capture the Castle, East of Eden, Song of Solomon, Mrs. Dalloway, and The Power of One (I have reread all of these at least twice).
97. Early morning and early evening are my favorite times of day, because I love the light outside when the sun is rising or setting.
98. After my ninth grade year, my grandparents took our family (their children and grandchildren) to France, where we retraced my Grandfather’s steps while he fought there during WWII. It was incredibly moving, and I wish I could do it all over again.
99. I use Burt’s Bees lip balm and hand cream.
100. I love libraries.
