It's
Harry Potter spirit day at school for Preston, so this morning he grabbed his robes (from college graduation), his Gryffindor scarf (mine from high school), his wand (a wooden spoon from the kitchen), and
The Tales of Beedle the Bard before heading down to work. I insisted on a quick photo shoot (basically I chased after him from room to room and snapped photos whenever I could).
This picture makes me SO HAPPY. Also, I would just like to remind the internet that Preston is twenty-eight. LOVE.
And just to put aside any doubts that I am any less
nerdy awesome than Preston, tonight I'm headed up to New York to spend the weekend with some friends from high school celebrating the wonder that is
Harry Potter. There will be (of course) a viewing of the new movie, a Weasley dinner party, plenty of Gryffindor scarves, and even - perhaps -
lightning-bolted foreheads (thanks to our friend Sharpie). YES.
I love these books, and I adore the characters in them, but mostly I'm just excited to see my friends, pretend I'm not in graduate school for a couple of nights, and, of course, to don my Gryffindor scarf.
That is the most adorable picture of Preston (without you in it) I have EVER SEEN. I squealed out loud when I saw it. As though he were a puppy. (Sorry, Preston. That...came out a lot creepier than I intended.)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books or seen any of the movies, but you guys may have just turned me on (to Harry Potter that is;).
ReplyDeletePreston is so cute for dressing up-- seriously-- I love that my husband isn't the only "dork" who still plays dressup at 28!
