For those of you who aren't embarrassingly short, as I am, finding jeans for a 5'1" frame is virtually impossible if you happen to have gone through puberty. If I were a 5'1" ten year old girl with no hips, finding jeans that fit wouldn't be a problem, and I could waltz into the Limited Too whenever I so pleased to buy a pair of jeans that is probably lined with glitter and rhinestones. Alas, since I am most definitely not hip-less, and am on a continual quest to eliminate rhinestones from my line of vision, finding classic jeans that fit me in the hips but that aren't too long is virtually impossible. Or so I thought, until Preston found the DKNY Petites section.
I've needed a new pair of jeans for a while, and when I washed my two favorite pairs the other day, it became clear that it was time for them to be retired. They are both incredibly frayed around the bottom, one pair has a hole in the knee, and the other pair just looks old and tired and cranky. So jeans shopping was the last thing to do on our list before Macy's closed at 9:30, and we rushed up to the women's department at 9:10 to begin the quest. I grabbed a few that looked like they might potentially fit, and I had Preston looking as well. He pulled this pair out for me right before I scurried into the fitting room. After trying on two pairs that would definitely have worked if I wore 6 inch heels every day, I was beginning to get extremely annoyed. Feeling disgruntled, I pulled on the DKNY pair and then all the bells of heaven rang and sunshine and lollipops rained down from the sky: they fit PERFECTLY.
So Preston basically rocks my world. This was the most painless jean-shopping experience I have had in a looooong time. I am never buying another brand of jeans. And they were totally affordable ($48). HOORAY!!!
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI just passed that on to my mom...who is also petite (nicer than short, I thought). I have the EXACT opposite problem...try finding jeans for a 33 inch inseam...impossible.
