The other day, when we were talking about our plans for the next few weeks, Preston realized that I was leaving Bryn Mawr on May 6th to return to Richmond for three weeks to prepare for Project: Wedding. This means several things.
1) Preston won't be banished from the den while I'm doing Pilates (I get pretty feisty. I haaatee people watching me exercise...Preston found this out the hard way).
2) Callie will only get three walks a day.
3) I won't be there to take over the TV while watching America's Next Top Model/ The Hills marathons (I also get pretty feisty about watching my trashy TV shows).
4) I won't call Preston in from the study just to turn off the overhead light when I'm already in bed and too lazy to do it (this is when I'm decidedly unfeisty...just annoying).
On this particular day, however, we were, unsurprisingly, eating hummus, and it struck Preston that there would be no one to make hummus for three whole weeks. I'm glad that's what I'm good for--chickpea dip. At any rate, on Friday, I taught Preston how to make hummus! The recipe I use is here, and is very, very easy (basically dump a bunch of ingredients in a blender). However, as I was teaching him how to make hummus, he decided to teach me how to make one of his specialties, hot dogs. A win-win recipe, as it is both classy and nutritious. Here are some action shots from my cooking lesson!
