For Change

Today is primary day in Pennsylvania. And I am DYING to know the outcome. I don't claim to know much about politics. I (embarrassingly) can't claim to know vast amounts about the candidates. As primaries have hit Virginia and Pennsylvania, though, I've been more involved in educating myself about this election than any previous one (presidential or otherwise), and I've read and heard enough that I am getting really, really excited for this election.

Something has to change, and I think that both Democratic candidates are more than capable of effecting such change. As the title of this post suggests, I am pro-Obama, though I'm not anti-Hillary. I will absolutely back her if she is the Democratic nominee, and it would thrill me to see a strong, capable woman leading our nation (something which is long overdue). As of right now, though, I'm putting my weight behind Obama (for many reasons...I'll save those for a later post, hopefully). I find him inspiring, intelligent, and thoughtful, and even though Hillary's predicted to win in PA today, I really believe in him.

At the end of the day, though, regardless of who wins in Pennsylvania, I feel a responsibility to take part in the election as I never have before, and that is pretty thrilling.
