Today: The World Against Mary Frances

Beware: serious whining ahead.

1. The mouse is back. I'm in hell.

2. I couldn't do my Yoga tape because Preston was watching the Masters all day.

3. I went to put away the clothes that I washed last week (finally), and my jean skirt has gone missing. My FAVORITE jean skirt. It fit perfectly, I could wear it year round, and it never, ever made me feel fat. I hung it out to dry (in the communal laundry room), and that's the last time I saw it. Either I dropped it between the laundry room and my apartment (on the same floor, no more than 60 feet apart) or someone took it (seriously, it's from Target. This is not a designer mini skirt, people.). Either way, I'm a little embarrassed that I'm feeling this much emotion about a piece of denim. But it was my faaaaavorite. And it's made me really sad.

4. I got dressed, straightened my hair, and put on makeup to go to church. Then we got there and they told us they had canceled the 5:30 service for a concert.

5. Gussie changed her mind and instead of sending out the rehearsal dinner invitations in two weeks, she wants to send them out THIS VERY SECOND. So she called Preston and was going through my list of friends trying to figure out who to invite. AKSJFHJLDHFS.

6. Then she said that she thought it was traditional for bagpipes to play after the wedding instead of beforehand (which we have been planning for over a year), so my cousin (the piper, who has been practicing for this since last summer) should play afterwards, and we should let her friend (and Preston's old choirmaster) play the organ before the ceremony. I already have a postlude I love and I don't want to change it.

7. I'm really cranky and I think I'm PMS-ing. I cried the other day when I was watching Tim Gunn's Guide to Style.

8. I have to get up and run tomorrow and go into the city and do Greek and call the wedding people, when really, all I want to do is throw myself a big ol' pity party, pour myself a glass of wine, listen to Joni Mitchell on repeat, and sulk.

9. I feel guilty for whining, but hopefully everyone who reads this blog has felt like this at one time or another, and they can relate.

10. Preston just FORGOT what our song was (he just wondered aloud, "I wonder what we should have our first dance to." ). This song ('Your Song' by Elton John) has been 'our song' since 2002.

Seriously. In the game of the World v. MF, the world is definitely winning. I'm going to bed. Here's to tomorrow being better.
