This Week: The Good, The Bad, and The Awesome

The Good
  • Went through two months of paperwork and mailed our tax forms out.
  • Did laundry.
  • Preston and I planned two weeks worth of dinners.
  • Talked to my Grandmother and several friends from college, all of whom I'd been meaning to call for weeks.
  • Packed my lunch and all my snacks for the three days I went in to the library, and not once did I pack a Luna Bar (my go-to lunch option when I'm in a rush).
The Bad
  • Just reread my "Good" list, and man. Even I'm bored.
  • Ness was wearing a cone for almost the whole week, which annoyed us almost as much as it did her.
  • Thanks to the delightful stomach flu I had at the beginning of my week, I am now way behind on my work for the week. And the week hasn't even begun. SIGH.
  • Probably (read: definitely) didn't shower every day.
  • Only ran twice.
  • Have eaten a horrifying number of chocolate chips over the last few days.
  • Still haven't gotten a haircut. And, um, ew.
The Awesome
  • Had brunch with a friend from high school who lives in Philly; embarrassingly, I've only seen her once since we moved up here in August of 2007. We've now established a date for monthly brunches in the city!
  • Had a drink yesterday at brunch that involved prosecco and peach deliciousness.
  • Preston and I finally talked about the fact that we haven't seen each other in a month. We came to the sad but realistic conclusion that that probably won't change until mid-May, when I'm done with classes, his students have taken the AP exam, and he's done coaching softball. And while this depressing conclusion is seriously lacking in the awesome, actually talking about the fact that WHAT THE HELL we're married and we're hardly seeing each other except in passing--that lifted a huge weight that I didn't even know was there. The conversation continued for another hour or so, and although I went to bed much later than I'd planned, we laughed harder than we have in weeks, and at the beginning of this week, which promises to be truly craptastic, it was exactly what I needed.
