And Then The Sun Came Out

Naturally, immediately after Callie, Ness, and I had trudged through a BONE-DRENCHING downpour on one of our (many) afternoon walks. It was as if the sky stayed gray and rainy and MEAN right up until we were very nearly done with our walk and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, there was sun! And blue sky! And non-rain-filled clouds! Which would have been exciting, and all, if I hadn't already walked for half an hour through sheets of rain, dragging two very, very wet dogs behind me (one of whom, per usual, needed to poop and was taking her sweet little time). Seriously. Even my bra had gotten wet. Through my apparently not waterproof rain jacket.

Preston, that gem of a husband, came outside looking for me with an umbrella and my winter rain jacket (in case I had gone outside without any rain jacket at all) and I told him please to take pictures. Because at that moment, I was soaked past my bones and into my skin, the only smell I could smell FOR MILES AROUND was wet dog, and I decided that I could laugh or cry. So I decided to laugh.
