As Promised.

It is 8:32. Preston and I are both in bed. Not once in six years together have we ever BOTH been in bed, this tired, at the same time. Today at school I said idiotic things in class, I didn't finish (or, really, start) work on my Greek presentation, and when I got home, Ness vomited in the car, tried to eat it, and then pooped in the hallway. As I was carrying her trying to STOP her from pooping in the hallway. So that's how my day ended: with me walking down our hallway, my hands still smelling like Ness' vomit, my school bag slung over my shoulder, crammed to the brim with my Greek and Latin dictionaries, my Aristophanes texts and my Cicero readings, and holding Ness at arms length as she leaked poop at evenly spaced intervals all the way to our door. CHARMING.

I can't even begin to express how excited I am to be going to bed at 9 pm. Probably because I'm TOO TIRED. Preston's going to give the pups one last walk tonight and then he's going to join me (keep in mind that this is the guy who regularly goes to bed at 2 AM). This is just a new level of tired. SO without further ado, as promised, here are some more pictures of the pup. Because even though she makes me crazy and exhausted, I am still one thousand percent, head over heels in love with our little family.

On our first afternoon together!

The first night, Ness wailed when we put her in the crate and turned off our bedroom lights. Preston went and laid down beside the crate next to her, and she immediately stopped her wailing and went to sleep. And I fell a little more in love with him. Both because it was cute and adorable and indicative of the father I think he'll be and because THANK GOD he made the puppy stop crying.

The better to hear you with, my dear. Hopefully she'll grow into her enormous ears.

I would like to trade lives with either of them.

Reaction: it's Sunday night. We have a new puppy. And have done no work this weekend. But at least we're about to eat a delicious dinner.

She's already discovered the sofa/we've already introduced her to the sofa (believe what you want). We're spineless.

This sums up Callie's attitude towards Ness: butt STRAIGHT in the air. I have faith that they'll be BFF in no time. Or a year. Whatever.
